$LYG Making a longterm deposit.
$LYG once again macro events are driving the price of the stock down. No actual performance problems with the business. This stock has an active share repurchase program and those shares are cancelled and do not simply remain on the books as Treasury stock. They are not financing the share repurchases through debt issuance. This is money already set aside. And they have an active dividend. The UK gets its oil from the North Sea, the US, and Norway. It has its own refineries. Putting it in a stable position versus the rest of Europe. So if you are looking for a safe haven this bank will survive and rebound once the hostilites are over. I am long term bullish. This is a decent buy now...it becomes an extremely good buy if the price drops further.

$LYG oil back up this morning...LYG down again. So far LYG has held just above $5 dollars. Showing there is consistent support at that price. In my opinion there is no real reason to sell stock. More oil is being produced elsewhere in the world, more oil is finding alternative means out of the middle east via alternative routes/pipelines. And more tankers are escaping the gulf to support alternate routing. Whether the hostilities resolve themselves in the immediate future or the next 6 month doesnt change the positive outlook for LYG. I continue to be bullish long term but acknowledge there are short term external factors which could cause the price per share to fall below the current levels of support.

$LYG so the longer we hold at these levels...the more the share repurchase program makes a difference in the long run...and the safer the dividend end up being in the long run.
$LYG once again..we are getting a signal that if the strait of hormuz issues are resolved LYG will fly.

$LYG essentially the latest interim statement for Q1 affirmed the war in Iran is not having an impact to LYG's bottomline. Slight beat on EPS. They ~$700M in share repurchases (IE they took advantage of the stock price dip) And revenues were up slightly better than their forecasts.
