$BB — low-cost lottery tickets. Aug 21 $9 calls are going for only ~$42 a contract. That’s cheap convexity with a near-term expiration. Options flow is starting to lean bullish and the premium is still accessible. #BB

$BB Renaissance Technologies increased its BlackBerry stake by 139.2% in the first quarter, purchasing 2.06 million additional shares and bringing its holdings to 3.55 million shares, or about 0.60% of the company. Institutional investors collectively own 54.48% of BlackBerry.

I’m long $BB, but the bear case is easy to understand. The stock has run hard, valuation is stretched, and any weak quarter could bring a sharp pullback. That risk is real. But the bigger picture is still about the business improving — QNX backlog is building, profitability is moving in the right direction, and cash flow is starting to turn. Valuation can change fast, but the execution story is what I’m watching.
